Between 1994 and 1998, the work carried out by Radisson
Mining Resources Inc. on Zone 36 E resulted in the delimitation
of a gold-bearing resource of 678,100 metric tons (Roscoe Postle
Associates, 1998) at a grade of 7.1 g/t with a cut-off at 68
g/t, (9.5 g/t uncut). This zone is located between sections
32+00 E and 44+00 E (350 m laterally), from the surface to 460
metres of vertical depth. Zone 36 E contains close to 156,000
ounces of gold (208,000 uncut). It should be noted that this
resource was not calculated according to standard 43-101.
According to Charlton (1995), at the O’Brien Mine, resources
of all categories totalled 540,700 metric tons at a grade of 5.8
g/t of gold for a gold content of 103,500 ounces. These
resources are located mainly between 600 and 1000 metres of
depth. It should be noted that these resources were calculated
before the implementation of standard 43-101.
The work that Radisson carried out in 2004 and 2005 verified
the lateral and depth extensions of Zone 36 E. During the 2004
diamond drilling program, the zone was followed to a vertical
depth of 1350 m. Drill hole KW04-01A yielded many anomalous gold
values, the most interesting being a grade of 13.7 g/t over a
length of 0.3m. Therefore, Zone 36 E continues well beyond the
existing infrastructures (level - 600 m).
Towards the east, on the Kewagama ground the 2005 drilling work traced Zone 36 E
laterally up to the Kewagama shaft. This allowed the lateral
extensions of Zone 36 E to be increased from 350 m to close to
850 m. The actual drilling density does not allow resources in
this sector to be calculated. However, it greatly increases the
potential for finding additional resources laterally.
